La Santa Muerta

My own version of the Grim Reaper. She'll be a character in my cartoon series.

She's an abstract entity, the embodiment of the end of life in the universe. She became known as La Santa Muerte to the Latino cultures. She meets and guides the recently deceased into the afterlife. She also visits each human being as they are born, and she's the only one to remember them.

She's caring, nurturing, and a motherly figure.

Sometimes she appears in the form of a beautifully-faced woman, other times she appears as a skeleton (but still with a female humanoid form). Rarely, she appears with half-flesh and half-skeleton. Her skeleton form resembles a Day of the Dead calaca.

La Santa Muerta was also known as Mictecacihuatl, the Lady of the Dead, to the Aztecs.

However, in any other possible cartoons I'll make which would feature Death, it'll be the traditional Grim Reaper, and not La Santa Muerta. But should there be a crossover which involves these two appearing in the same scene, it'll be revealed that the Grim Reaper is the ultimate personification of Death while Santa Muerta represents "death as compassionate release".
